RAMBAN, April 1 -- In a significant development under the ongoing drive against absconders, District Police Ramban successfully apprehended an absconder who had been evading arrest since 2018.
Today, an absconder namely Farooq Ahmed S/o Abdul Aziz was arrested from Gujjar Basti, Talab Tillo, Jammu by a Ramban Police team headed by ASI Ravinder Kumar Sharma on 30th March 2026. The accused was wanted in case FIR No. 112/2018 under sections 188 RPC and 3 PC Act registered at Police Station Ramban. A warrant under section 335 BNSS (512 CrPC) had been issued against him by the Hon'ble Addl. Sessions Court Ramban. The accused had been evading arrest for nearly eight years.
