NEW DELHI, June 12 -- Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Friday told nodal media officers of the Election Commission that poll-related communication should be timely, simple, factual, and legally accurate. He also noted that the recently concluded elections in four states and a union territory witnessed unprecedented public participation since Independence. He was addressing a one-day conference organised for the media and communication officers from all 36 states and Union Territories, particularly from poll-bound states and those undergoing Phase-III of the Special Intensive Revision. Election Commissioner Sukhbir Singh Sandhu stressed that communication efforts should focus on impact rather than merely inputs.
