Jammu, April 29 -- The Jammu Division of the Northern Railway is set to launch the inaugural Vande Bharat special train service between Jammu and Srinagar on April 30. The direct train between the two capital cities of Jammu and Kashmir regions will reduce the travel time and boost tourism, besides providing an all-weather surface transport link.

The train will mark the introduction of the semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express on this strategically significant route, enhancing seamless travel across the region's challenging terrain.

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw will flag off a 20-coach Vande Bharat Express train between Jammu and Srinagar on April 30, while the services for the general public will commence on May 2.
