Jammu, Aug. 7 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party's Anantnag district unit has suspended nine party functionaries and removed them from all organisational posts over allegations of organising and participating in an unauthorised Tiranga rally and making objectionable remarks against women.
The action was confirmed through an official office order issued by Anantnag district president Rakesh Kaul.
According to the order, the rally was organised on August 5 at the Housing Colony in Khannabal without obtaining prior permission from either the party's district unit or the district administration.
