JAMMU, Sept. 2 -- In a crime that has stunned residents and raised serious questions about public safety, thieves stole an entire electricity transformer from Roopnagar in the Janipur police station area late Monday night. The brazen act left the entire locality without power, with residents initially assuming it was just another routine outage.
The incident unfolded silently under the cover of darkness. Around midnight, the power supply to the neighborhood suddenly snapped. With many households equipped with inverters, residents carried on with their night, believing it to be a standard power cut.
