Jammu, April 22 -- Describing April 22 as a "painful day" Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday paid rich tributes Pahalgam terror attack victims on the first anniversary of the carnage.

Talking to reporters here, CM Omar said, "Today is a painful day. The government remains committed to preventing incidents like Pahalgam terror attack in future."

"We remember those who lost their lives. They had come for holidays but were targeted. We are still in grief, but we are committed to ensuring such incidents do not happen again," he said, calling for coordinated efforts by the government and security agencies.
