Srinagar, Aug. 3 -- The Amarnath Yatra tally crossed 4.64 lakh on Monday as 7,507 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine, while a fresh batch of 1,056 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu for the Baltal base camp under tight security arrangements.

Figures reveal that 7,507 pilgrims, including 5,623 men, 1,344 women, 106 children, 36 sadhus, 14 sadhvis, five transgender devotees and 379 security personnel, performed darshan on Monday, taking the cumulative number of pilgrims since the commencement of the Yatra on July 3 to 4,64,697.

The figures further show that the 26th batch of pilgrims departed from Bhagwati Nagar at 2:49 a.m and reached Kashmir. The batch comprised 832 men, 205 women, two children, 15 sadhus a...
