Jammu, March 9 -- Even as the schedule for the forthcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in Jammu and Kashmir is yet to be announced, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reportedly begun efforts to re-induct some leaders who were expelled from the party during the 2024 Assembly elections.

These leaders had been expelled after they contested the Assembly polls as rebel candidates against the party's official nominees. Although most of them failed to win their respective seats, several managed to secure a significant number of votes, and in at least two constituencies, rebel candidates were blamed for the defeat of the BJP's official nominees.
