Lucknow, Aug. 22 -- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured the people of the state that there is no shortage of sugar in the state and therefore, the general public need not worry at all. At present, 179.38 lakh quintals of sugar are available in the state's sugar mills. Sugar mills sold 235 lakh quintals of sugar during the two months of June and July. CM Yogi directed that sugar mills be operated from October 15 if required.

In the review meeting, the Chief Minister said, "23.60 lakh quintals of sugar are available in cooperative sugar mills, 5.28 lakh quintals in corporation sugar mills and 150.50 lakh quintals in private sugar mills, taking the total availability in the state to 179.38 lakh quintals.
