JAMMU, Aug. 11 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a corruption case against a former Patwari in Kishtwar for allegedly demanding Rs 5 lakh as illegal gratification and accepting Rs 3 lakh through cheque in connection with the issuance of a Fard. According to an ACB statement, FIR No. 02/2026 has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended, at Police Station ACB Doda against Mohd Arif Mir, the then Patwari of Patwar Halqa Trigam, Kishtwar.
The case was registered after a verification conducted by ACB DKR Jammu into allegations that the accused, while posted as a public servant, allegedly misused his official position and demanded Rs 5 lakh from the complainant for issuing a Fard.
