80th I-Day celebrated with patriotic fervour across Akhnoor

AKHNOOR, Aug. 16 -- The 80th Independence Day was celebrated across Akhnoor with great patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and national pride. Flag-hoisting ceremonies were organised at various schools, panchayats, government institutions, public places and prominent locations across the area, with people paying homage to the freedom fighters and brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.

At Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor, the National Flag was unfurled by SDM Akhnoor Mukhtar Ahmad Lone. Students presented a march past and a series of patriotic and cultural performances, adding colour and spirit to the celebrations.
