SRINAGAR, Sept. 28 -- Five people, including a nine-month-old infant, were killed while seven others were injured after a Scorpio vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a river in Tangdhar area in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday. Officials said the accident occurred close to the Line of Control when the Scorpio was travelling from Teetwal towards Semari and rolled down the road into Kishanganga River.
The five deceased have been identified as Mohammad Idrees, 30, Hamza, nine months, Sayeeda Begum, 28, Shabir Ahmad, 50, all residents of Semari, and Raja Arshad, 30, a resident of Teetwal.
