UDHAMPUR, Sept. 8 -- The three-day historic Sankri Devta Mela commenced today at village Meer, Tehsil Panchari, District Udhampur amid vibrant festive atmosphere.
Tehsildar Vipan Kumar inaugurated the Fair in presence of government functionaries, former PRI members and prominent citizens. A large number of pilgrims and visitors thronged the mela site on the first day, adding to the festive spirit and traditional fervour of the event.
Tehsildar congratulated the mela committee for organizing the traditional event. He also appreciated the enthusiastic participation of local students in various sports and cultural programmes and wished them success in their future endeavours.
