Budgam, Sept. 26 -- Prominent political activist and former Vice Chairman of J&K Cements, Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo, today visited several villages in the Charar-i-Sharief area and interacted with residents over issues affecting their daily lives.
A major concern raised by residents was the burden of accumulated electricity dues, with many households reporting bills of 30,000-40,000 or even higher. Residents urged the government to provide relief through an amnesty mechanism, particularly for poor and economically weaker families.
Yatoo said that labourers, small earners and low-income households are finding it extremely difficult to clear such large bills amid limited employment and rising household expenses.
