Srinagar, July 24 -- The Amarnath Yatra, which remained suspended for six days due to inclement weather, will resume on Saturday from Pahalgam and Baltal routes, officials said on Friday.

A top official told Srinagar based news agency that preparations are underway for the resumption of the pilgrimage following an improvement in weather conditions. The yatra was suspended earlier this week after incessant rainfall rendered the tracks unsafe for pilgrims.

The official said the pilgrimage will resume on both the traditional Pahalgam route and the shorter but steeper Baltal route on Saturday.
