India, Oct. 19 -- Workday has signed a definitive agreement to acquire C1.ai, an identity platform designed to manage access for people and AI agents across enterprise systems. The proposed acquisition aims to help organisations control which applications, data and systems employees and AI agents can access, and remove those permissions when they are no longer required.

Announced on October 13, 2026, at Workday Rising 2026 in Las Vegas, the deal is expected to strengthen Workday's identity governance capabilities as businesses expand their use of autonomous AI agents.
