India, Oct. 22 -- The Vultr AI supercluster is set to bring a planned 20MW of AI computing capacity to Chennai, powered by AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs. The deployment will be Vultr's largest AMD Instinct installation in India and one of its two largest AI infrastructure deployments globally, alongside its Springfield, Ohio, supercluster.

The move highlights a growing need for computing power that organisations can access locally as they develop and run complex AI models.

The Chennai AI cloud facility is designed for AI labs, foundation model developers, startups, enterprises and research institutions. It will support large language model training, fine-tuning and high-throughput inference.
