India, Oct. 30 -- STMicroelectronics has launched a new range of automotive sensors that combine accelerometers and gyroscopes in a single package. The aim is clear: help automakers and Tier-1 suppliers build safety systems that can serve vehicles across premium and mass-market segments.

The launch matters because safety features must work across different vehicle designs and price points. By bringing two motion-sensing functions into one device, ST says its platform can simplify system design, speed up development and give manufacturers more flexibility.
