Gartner AI prediction says 70% of enterprises may abandon agentic AI
India, Oct. 6 -- A new Gartner AI prediction puts a spotlight on a less obvious risk in enterprise agentic AI. Gartner expects 70% of enterprises to abandon agentic AI built through vendor forward-deployed engineering (FDE), mainly because rising costs and weak internal capabilities can make these systems difficult to evolve independently.
FDE involves vendor engineers working directly with customers to build and deploy solutions. While the model can speed up early progress, Gartner's analysis suggests the structure of the engagement can determine whether that progress lasts.
