India, Oct. 3 -- Enterprise hardware should not be managed by the calendar. It should be managed by the value it creates. Yet, too many organisations still treat the refresh cycle as a default business decision. A device reaches three or four years, and replacement becomes the assumption. That is an expensive assumption.

A device does not become uneconomical because it has reached a certain age. It becomes uneconomical when the cost of keeping it in service outweighs the value it delivers. That distinction changes how enterprises should think about hardware.
