India, Oct. 19 -- Cloudflare and OpenAI have reported early results from a joint research pilot aimed at improving how ChatGPT discovers useful content across the web. The initiative has helped OpenAI discover and index hundreds of millions of previously unknown web pages, giving ChatGPT Search more sources to draw on when answering users' questions.

Launched in July 2026, the pilot explores whether signals from Cloudflare's network can help OpenAI's search crawler find relevant pages more efficiently. The participating cohort represented approximately 1% of Cloudflare's total network.
