India, May 28 -- On May 27, 2026, India's peak power demand stood at 258.5 GW during solar hours at 3:30 pm. The peak demand during non-solar hours was 247.6 GW.

Total generation was 6085 MU [1 per cent lower than May 26].

The source-wise generation share is as follows:

Coal - 69 per cent

Gas - 2 per cent

Wind & Solar - 18 per cent

Hydropower - 8 per cent

Others including Nuclear - 3 per cent

*'Others' includes biomass and nuclear.
