India, May 26 -- On May 25, 2026, India's peak power demand rose to 268 GW during solar hours at 3:26 pm.

The source mix is as follows:

1. Peak demand during solar hours: 268 GW

2. Peak demand during non-solar hours: 248.5 GW

3. Total Generation: 6185 MU [3 per cent higher than May 24]

4. Source-wise generation share:

Coal - 69 per cent

Gas - 1 per cent

Wind & Solar - 19 per cent

Hydropower - 8 per cent

Others including Nuclear - 3 per cent
