Gujarat village resident on hunger strike says decade-long pollution complaints against Tata Chemicals still ignored
India, May 15 -- A resident of Devpara village in Okhamandal taluka has sent a follow-up statutory notice to the Gujarat Pollution Control Board, accusing Tata Chemicals' Mithapur plant of ongoing environmental violations.
Citing inspections dating back to 2012 and multiple representations to authorities, he claims official actions since 2025 remain procedural, with no real relief for affected livelihoods or public health in the village.
