India, Aug. 21 -- A high-level workshop at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University in Amarkantak on August 17, 2026, brought forest officials, scientists, public representatives and local communities together to tackle the growing sal borer infestation in Madhya Pradesh's sal forests.
Experts called for coordinated, science-based, long-term strategies, early warning systems, and integrated pest management to protect biodiversity, livelihoods and environmental balance.
