India, June 2 -- Zinc prices advanced more than 1% in futures trade on Tuesday, supported by firm trends in international markets and fresh buying interest from traders.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India, the most-active June zinc contract rose Rs 5, or 1.36%, to Rs 372.70 per kg, with a trading volume of 2,738 lots.

Market participants attributed the rise in zinc prices to positive global cues and fresh positions created by traders, which boosted sentiment in the domestic futures market.
