India, Aug. 18 -- Zinc futures prices declined Rs 2.25 to Rs 398.60 per kg on Tuesday, weighed down by weaker demand and reduced positions by speculators amid negative trends in the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for August delivery fell Rs 2.25, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 398.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,622 lots.

Analysts said subdued demand from consuming industries in the physical market prompted participants to trim their positions, putting pressure on zinc prices.
