India, Sept. 8 -- Vishnu Chemicals Ltd (VCL) has entered into a definitive Joint Venture Agreement with DCX Chrome SAS, France, to establish a new greenfield manufacturing facility for high-purity chromium metal in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The proposed joint venture will be equally owned by VCL and DCX, with each holding a 50% stake, and the facility will have an installed capacity of 6,000 MTPA. The project is aimed at reducing India's dependence on imported high-purity chromium metal and strengthening domestic capabilities in advanced engineering materials.
