India, Sept. 30 -- The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) have signed an MoU to strengthen efforts towards the preservation, documentation, digitisation, research and promotion of India's diverse tribal cultural heritage.
Signed on September 28, 2026, the partnership will bring together MoTA's network of Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs) and tribal research ecosystem with IGNCA's expertise in archival, academic, research and curatorial activities.
The collaboration will focus on documenting and safeguarding tribal arts, music, languages, oral traditions, folklore, crafts, cuisines, customary practices and traditional knowledge, with particular attention to endangered and disappeari...
