India, April 7 -- Titagarh Naval Systems Ltd (TNSL) has secured in-principle approval from the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for its brownfield expansion project at Falta, West Bengal.
The expansion, with a planned investment of around Rs 610 crore, will be undertaken under the Centre's Shipbuilding Development Scheme. The project aims to enhance India's shipbuilding capacity and boost maritime manufacturing capabilities.
As part of the scheme, the government will provide capital assistance of approximately Rs 129 crore for eligible plant and machinery, subject to compliance with prescribed guidelines.
