India, Oct. 1 -- Silver futures rose Rs 2,087, or 0.93%, to Rs 2,25,793 per kg on Thursday, supported by a firm trend in global markets and fresh positions taken by traders.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for December delivery gained 0.93% to Rs 2,25,793 per kg, with 2,364 lots changing hands.

Analysts said fresh buying and increased positions by market participants supported the rise in silver futures.
