India, May 4 -- Silver prices tumbled on Monday, with futures dropping Rs 3,917 to Rs 2.47 lakh per kg amid weak global trends and dampened investor sentiment due to elevated crude oil prices and inflation concerns.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for July delivery declined by Rs 3,917, or 1.56 per cent, to Rs 2,47,020 per kg, with a turnover of 7,234 lots.
In the previous session, silver had gained Rs 879 to settle at Rs 2.50 lakh per kg on the MCX.
In the international market, COMEX silver futures for July delivery fell by USD 1.57, or 2.06 per cent, to USD 74.85 per ounce in New York, tracking broader weakness in global commodities.
