India, Oct. 5 -- Silver futures edged higher on Monday, supported by a firm trend in global markets and fresh buying by market participants.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for December delivery rose Rs 1,223, or 0.54%, to Rs 2,27,100 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,295 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise to fresh positions built by traders, which provided support to silver prices during the session.
