India, July 13 -- Silver futures extended their decline on Monday, with the September contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) dropping Rs 3,783, or 1.7 percent, to Rs 2,18,881 per kg.
The decline came amid a stronger US dollar and rising crude oil prices following the escalation of the US-Iran conflict, reducing the appeal of precious metals. The weakness follows last week's sharp correction, when silver futures plunged Rs 14,746, or 6.2 percent, to settle at around Rs 2.22 lakh per kg.
