India, June 12 -- The Central Government has nominated Sanjay Lohiya, Secretary of the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance, as a Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India.
He succeeds Nagaraju Maddirala on the board. The appointment became effective on June 11, 2026, and will remain in force until further orders from the Government.
The nomination ensures continued representation of the Department of Financial Services on the RBI's Central Board, which plays a key role in guiding the country's monetary, regulatory, and financial sector policies.
