India, Sept. 10 -- The rupee weakened 25 paise to 95.33 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday, pressured by a surge in Brent crude prices above the USD 100-per-barrel mark, which raised concerns over India's import bill.

Forex traders said sustained dollar demand, along with elevated crude oil prices, continued to weigh on the domestic currency and investor sentiment.

At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 95.15 against the US dollar before slipping to 95.33, marking a decline of 25 paise from its previous close.
