India, Aug. 12 -- The rupee edged up 3 paise to settle at Rs 95.33 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday, despite fading hopes of a quick US-Iran agreement and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Forex traders said the rupee remained under pressure as Brent crude prices moved towards USD 90 a barrel amid heightened risk aversion in global markets.

At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at Rs 95.40 against the greenback and moved in a range of Rs 95.24–95.43 during the session before settling at Rs 95.33
