India, Sept. 1 -- The Indian rupee strengthened 26 paise to 94.96 against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday, supported by robust domestic economic growth, contained fiscal slippage and portfolio-related inflows.

Forex traders said the USD/INR pair appears to have established a near-term support zone around 95.10–95.20, while inflows linked to MSCI rebalancing have provided additional support to the domestic currency.

At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 95.06 per dollar before advancing to an intraday level of 94.96, marking a 26-paise gain from its previous close.
