India, Nov. 4 -- The Indian rupee appreciated by 14 paise to 94.61 against the US dollar in Wednesday's early trade, aided by a decline in crude oil prices, weakness in the American currency and fresh foreign fund inflows.

Gains in domestic equity markets further supported the rupee, while market participants remained watchful ahead of the US midterm election results, according to forex traders.

At the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic currency began trading at 94.61 and strengthened to an intraday high of 94.50. It later surrendered some gains to trade at 94.61 against the greenback, marking a rise of 14 paise over its previous close.
