India, Oct. 28 -- The Indian rupee depreciated by 21 paise to close at 95.28 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday, pressured by a stronger US dollar and rising crude oil prices.
Forex market participants said the rupee may continue to face a slight negative bias amid the strength of the US dollar and firm US Treasury yields. Elevated crude oil prices are also expected to weigh on the domestic currency.
In the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 95.01 against the dollar before weakening to an intra-day low of 95.29. It subsequently settled at 95.28 (provisional), down 21 paise from its previous close.
