India, Sept. 29 -- The rupee settled 2 paise higher at 95.95 against the US dollar on Tuesday, recovering slightly after trading near the key 96-per-dollar level.
The currency found support from possible RBI intervention and a pullback in crude oil prices amid hopes of negotiations between the US and Iran.
However, gains were capped by dollar demand from local importers and a stronger US dollar. Forex traders also noted that the RBI may intervene as the rupee approaches the 96-per-dollar level.
