India, Aug. 18 -- The rupee ended Tuesday's session 7 paise lower at 95.68 (provisional) against the US dollar, as higher crude oil prices and continued geopolitical tensions in West Asia weighed on the domestic currency.
Forex traders said the USD/INR pair is expected to maintain a mildly negative bias, amid delays in a potential US-Iran deal, elevated crude oil prices and broader strength in the dollar.
At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened at 95.68 against the greenback and moved between 95.64 and 95.69 during the session. The currency eventually settled at 95.68 (provisional), down 7 paise from its previous close.
