India, July 10 -- The Indian rupee strengthened by 14 paise to settle at 95.33 against the US dollar on Friday, supported by a weaker greenback and softer crude oil prices despite escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
According to forex traders, persistent foreign institutional investor (FII) outflows and renewed uncertainty surrounding the Middle East conflict continued to weigh on the domestic currency. However, positive sentiment in the Indian equity markets helped the rupee end the session higher.
Geopolitical tensions intensified after the US carried out fresh airstrikes on Iran, prompting Tehran to retaliate by targeting US-allied nations in West Asia, raising concerns over regional stability.
