India, Oct. 6 -- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has extended the period of directions imposed on Samarth Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd., Osmanabad, Maharashtra, for another three months.

The directions, originally issued in October 2025 and subsequently extended until October 7, 2026, will now remain in force until the close of business on January 7, 2027, subject to review.

The RBI said the extension has been made in the public interest. However, it clarified that the extension or any modification of the directions should not be interpreted as an indication that the central bank is satisfied with the bank's financial position.

All other terms and conditions of the existing directions will remain unchanged.
