India, April 24 -- The Reserve Bank of India has approved the voluntary amalgamation of The Mekhar Urban Co-op Bank Ltd., Mekhar with Nagpur Nagarik Sahakari Bank Ltd., Nagpur. The approval has been granted under the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
As per the sanctioned scheme, the merger will come into effect from April 24, 2026. Following the amalgamation, all branches of The Mekhar Urban Co-op Bank Ltd. will operate as branches of Nagpur Nagarik Sahakari Bank Ltd., Nagpur from the effective date.
