India, Sept. 17 -- Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, chaired a meeting on September 16, 2026, to review the outcomes of a project aimed at developing a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) framework for solid waste management technologies in India.
The project, undertaken by IISc Bengaluru, IIT Madras and IIT (BHU) Varanasi, has developed an LCA framework and a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Calculator web application to help Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) assess, compare and optimise waste management systems while reducing carbon emissions.
