India, May 18 -- NTPC on Monday announced that its total installed electricity generation capacity has crossed the 90 GW milestone.
The capacity expansion follows the successful completion of trial operations for Unit 2, an 800 MW unit at Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, a subsidiary project comprising three 800 MW units.
The company said the achievement represents another major step towards strengthening India's energy security and supporting sustainable power generation growth.
