India, Oct. 9 -- The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) received Rs. 9.68 crore from users of India's biological resources between April 1 and September 30, 2026, under the Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) framework, in accordance with the Biological Diversity Act, 2002, as amended in 2023, and the ABS Regulations.
The agriculture seed sector contributed the largest share, amounting to Rs. 7.16 crore, followed by food and beverages at Rs. 1.59 crore and animal husbandry at Rs. 62 lakh. Other contributions came from AYUSH, Red Sanders wood, cosmetics and intellectual property-related applications.
