India, June 8 -- The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will commence nationwide celebrations on June 9, 2026, to mark the completion of a decade of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), one of the Government of India's flagship maternal healthcare initiatives.

The celebrations, themed "10 Years of PMSMA – A Decade of Care", will be inaugurated by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda. Awareness and outreach activities will be conducted across States and Union Territories to encourage pregnant women and their families to avail the nine assured free services offered under the scheme and highlight the importance of timely and quality antenatal care.
