India, Aug. 25 -- Natco Pharma on Tuesday announced an investment of USD 14 million, or over Rs 130 crore, in US-based biotechnology company eGenesis through two of its overseas subsidiaries.
Under the transaction, Natco Pharma (Canada) Inc will invest USD 9.5 million, while Natco Pharma South Africa Proprietary Ltd will invest USD 4.5 million through convertible promissory notes.
eGenesis is developing genome-engineering technologies aimed at creating safe and effective transplantable organs to address the global shortage of donor organs and improve treatment options for organ failure.
